We had a great experience with Horncastle (Cal was our plumber). Very professional, excellent customer service. We would highly recommend using Horncastle if anyone is after a speedy service and honest approach.

I have waited this long to post this review for a reason. I first discovered Horncastle when I needed urgent repairs and modifications to be undertaken at the residence of an elderly couple who I care for dearly, and they particular, capable and knowledgeable (but at that time infirm) due to elder-abuse and medical complications needed urgent and specialized works to be undertaken. I had to be particularly diligent in my choice of trades-persons, the couple being traumatized from previous treatment and thefts by those who they should have been able to trust, and I have known this astute couple for 35 years, their new anxiety and fear for other humans broke my heart as they had always been the first and most generous people to anyone stranger or not. Respectful and transparent persons were a must. As it happened, no other business replied as it was the nearing the festive season of 2018. But cal answered, and kept all promises promptly. As we needed to meet specialist aged-care and disability requirements, and were also working with works which involved RTWSA funding interactions, most plumbers would have avoided the job anyway. Not Horncastle. Said they were privileged to help a couple in such a situation, and they meant it. We warned them upfront of the abuse risks of family approaching the residence, and of likely funding complications affected by the abuse. Not a problem. Perfectly respectful, perfect job, perfectly cleaned up afterwards (including fixing problems/mess by RTW contractors without additional charge). Transparent and itemized invoicing as requested.

Unfortunately the funding problems eventuated due to the Public trustee's mismanagement. Cal waited patiently 5 months for payment that was delayed due to both public trustee issues and further family-member payment obstruction tactics, and then issued final notice, respectfully, and was reasonable about that too. Horncastle is a small-business not a bank or credit-purchase or loan service, and their patience was extended to their detriment. Their work was stellar, Their price much better than others. More prompt and reliable than any other tradies I've ever dealt with. When they couldn't raise a response for Payment requests from the PT/Family-member Administrator they issued the debt notice in the only other name they had, the contact person for the job, Me. Not my property or works, Yes. But that allowed for me to fwd on the invoicing and letter of demand I received to the PT to advocate payment. After all that, no extra was even charged for holding costs he incurred!! (because he understood the elderly couple's situation). Scott was amazing with the couple, diligent, and at all times mindful of not leaving gates and doors unlocked/unattended. Would I use them again? Absolutely. Was I surprised that they would take future business from me (someone they had issued final notice to and got an absolute pre-emptive spray from)? Absolutely. Will I again? Yep, in January Hopefully.

Have I recommended them? to everyone! (I only reccomend two plumbers: Ashley Hunt (separate business), AND Horncastle.
