RACV home assistance is a joke. Had two call-outs over the last few weeks. The hot water system broke down first, somenoe came and had a look, saying the tank is leaking, cannot light the pilot fire. Then he sent the job to the company he works for to quote a replacement unit. I came there myself next day, removed the thermalcouple, clean the blocked hole where the gas came from. Fixed in half an hour. Second time, the ducted heating was off, again the plumber arrived and advised that there are some water onto the flame, cannot light the pilot fire. Have to send a quote to a heating technican to check. I climbed up myself, dry the area, lit the pilot fire. 10 mins job.. RACV services seems to be a way for the local plumber companies to get more business. They usualy don't do anything unless it is really urgent, and then get their company to provide you a more expensive qutoe to fix this and that. Usually these companies had very low ratings on google.
