Dr Rachel Timmins graduated with a Bachelor of Science (Hons) Degree in Podiatry in the United Kingdom in 1997 and worked within both the public and private health sectors until emigrating to Australia in 2002.
In 2008, Dr Timmins opened her own clinic and The Foot Pod opened in August 2008.

Went to see Rachael this time last year. She recommended customised orthotics as I have significant foot issues. Quoted around $900. As a single mum this required me to make a personal loan. Long story short. Wearing them in caused me endless pain. Rachael told me she would only give me exercises once I had worn the orthotics in for several weeks. I understand new orthotics are supposed to be uncomfortable initially but not cause intense pain as mine were. I’d ring Rachael’s rooms regularly and was told to persist, week after week. If I went to see her for the same issue I was charged a full consult fee, time and again. At one point she promised to make a slight adjustment to the orthotic which she never did. Weeks went by and despite exercises and my best efforts at persisting it got to a point where I was eventually limping and it was no longer affordable to keep going back so I stopped. It’s been a very long year of wearing no orthotics at all but I’ve managed to get by wearing decent footwear. I have since gone for a second opinion who can not even work with the orthotics I got from Rachael and therefore it’s an entirely new cost all over again. This time the exercises have started from scratch and I’ve been told if the new set of orthotics cause pain to stop wearing them immediately, no such thing as persisting through pain. Very disappointed with my experience from the Footpod. $900 to some people may not be much but to me it’s an awful lot of money seen as though they simply were never used for the purpose intended.
