I have gone through two pregnancies at the Osborne Park Hospital.
If you have a choice of hospital I would encourage you to look around. If you are wanting a natural birth I would look into the birthing centres available.
If you are in the catchment area for this hospital then ask to be placed on the midwife team. The team consists of 5 midwives so although you won’t have the same person every time there is some opportunity for consistency. If you’re not on the midwife team you will see whoever is available.
In regards to supporting your birth plan and natural labour and hypnobirthing the midwife team were really supportive and accommodating. I unfortunately had to have an emergency C-section in the end but felt like all avenues had been exhausted by then with my requests being held.
My second pregnancy has required a C-section and I feel like this has had an impact on how I have been supported/managed during my appointments. As this is a public hospital times have been changed for my C-section, I was not able to know who would be working in regards to the midwives or doctors. It has felt disorganized and unsupportive for me the patient. even when raising concern and requests. I think it comes back to being a public hospital. They are doing the best with the restrictions the hospital has in place
