About Newport Railway Museum
The Newport Railway Museum is home to Victoria's largest collection of historic rail vehicles on permanent display to the public. We have 17 steam locomotives, 9 diesel and 3 electric locomotives, as well as an amazing assortment of suburban and country passenger carriages, goods wagons, guards vans, cranes and many other rail vehicles. Several of our locomotives and carriages have steps to allow you to explore their cabs or interiors. Also on display are various items of signalling and a complete signalbox, a model railway, and displays photographs and smaller artefacts such as railway crockery., builder's plates, etc.
