Do not work with this company. Our experience as tenants with Greencity Property Group was horrible.

We were previously happily renting our property with another agency, then the lease got taken over by Greencity Property Group. Our previous agency courteously let us know, and a few days after our contract was taken over by Greencity Property Group we received an email from Richard Yu, riddled with spelling errors and grammatical mistakes asking us to send our rent to their company. At first, I thought this email was a scam. Curiously, the email failed to mention the company's account number details to transfer the rent. We had to follow up with them to get this information.

A week prior to the rent being due, we received a very rude email from Richard Wu, riddled with spelling errors, letting us know our rent was overdue. We advised Greencity Property Group of our payment schedule, and that the rent paid to the previous agency covered the time-period Greencity Property Group was asking rent for. Our previous agency confirmed that we had already paid the rent in an email directly to Greencity Property Group. Greencity Property Group confirmed the information that we provided was correct and we thought the issue was solved. It was not.

We then received a series of unjustified 'arrears notices' informing us that our rent was overdue. This was stressful. We ended up calculating exact rental amounts and time-frames for Greencity Property Group. Jessica, - who did a much better job than Richard - confirmed the amounts. However, we continued to receive unjustified arrears notices from Richard and Greencity Property Group's system. We notified Greencity Property Group of their mistakes on multiple occasions, yet the arears notices continued. Their response was that even though they acknowledge we paid our rent, nobody received the rent we paid to our original agency. We asked our original agency about this, who explained they never received the bank details from Greencity Property group... Not once did we receive an apology from Greencity Property group.

We have since broken lease and moved out. An inspection was conducted and a few random pictures were sent to us, nothing like any of the formal inspection reports we have received from other agencies. We did receive another email with some problems they noted (most of which did not match the random pictures they sent). Their biggest issue was a new towel rack that was installed during the lease - we had to dig through our documents to find evidence that this was in fact approved by the owner! Greencity Property Group further wanted to keep part of our bond based on issues that were already present when we moved into the property over a year ago. It was obvious they didn't bother requesting any of the previous inspection reports from the owner or our original agency. Eventually, after spending yet more of our time, we did get our bond back.

All in all, we thought Greencity property group was very unprofessional. It seemed like they had no idea how to manage rental properties, and communicating with them was a challenge (Richard was particularly terrible to deal with).
