Playshack's no outside food policy is way over the top. Today my daughter who has special needs was not allowed to eat a small container of nutri grain we brought with us. She has issues with food and it is so difficult to get her to eat when out. I understand that this is a business and allowing outside food would mean people wouldn't buy from the cafe but we did buy food and drinks so surely there could be flexibility for a child with special needs.
The owner told me, in a harsh abrupt manner, that they do not allow outside food because of the risk of allergens for children but for goodness sake it was nutri grain. They serve egg, milk and other allergens in their menu so it is clearly an excuse.
It was not just my daughter that was not allowed her food. The owner also told a group of about 7 mums that they could not feed their babies pouch food they had brought in. The babies were all under one. So ridiculous!! It even says on their website that baby food is allowed. That table of mums left soon after.
I will not be returning!
