About Fo Guang Shan Box Hill Temple

In 2002, Fo Guang Yuan Buddhist Temple was established east of Melbourne, in the suburb of Box Hill. Thanks to the blessing of the Triple Gem and Dharma protectors, devotees increased daily until the capacity of Fo Guang Yuan Buddhist Temple was reached. Due to devotees actively seeking access, the temple developed a plan to construct a new temple (42 Rutland Road, Box Hill, VIC 3128) in the City of Whitehorse, close to the shopping district and public transport facilities, as a strategic assembly point for Fo Guang Shan devotees. Construction commenced on the 10th of November 2009 under the supervision of the Abbott of the Fo Guang Shan Monastery, Venerable Hsin Pei, to be completed within 18 months.
