This is an absolute must-go! Beth and her team served the two of us a fantastic dinner, that we will most certainly be back for the next time we’re in Adelaide. Such creative use of fish, textures, flavour and the balance was perfect in every, single, dish. Not joking.
We started with the Swordfish Prosciutto with the peppered melon and this was literally the ONLY way to kickstart the tastebuds. Partnered with the Moonfish Ham - these were perfect entrees.
The Whipped Tarama followed, with freshly toasted focaccia (I only wish there was a little more focaccia!). The Skate Wings were best eaten in one mouthful with the BBQ sauce and the slaw, as it creates a deep BBQ savoury flavour of the wings, balanced out by the yoghurt/mayonnaise dressing and freshness of the slaw!
At this point we thought it couldn’t get better, but the Grilled Mulloway brought us to another level of eating. With a side of the Eggplant (with miso and delicious Japanese flavours), the two of us were at this point: Mind. Blown.
To top it off was the ice cream sandwich - this was also another balanced dessert that isn’t overly sweet but also delivers on textures of torched meringue, chocolate ice cream and slight saltiness in the biscuit.
We love, love, loved Fishbank. Do yourself a favour and get there, stat!
