My Family n I were very excited about dining in this Burmese Restaurant, we know the cuisine very well and thought it would be nice to support a new restaurant. We for went for lunch, there were quite a few diners but not full, the decor was very simple. We noticed only 1 waitress, who was friendly and polite.
Small menu, but we kinda knew what we wanted to try. We ordered fried tofu and Samosas to start with, and the 2Mohinga , 2 Noodle Salads, 1 Coconut Noodle soup. The starters came out in timely manner,
Tofu was very thinly sliced and deep fried making it very oily.
Samosa’s very very tasty.
Followed by the mains,
2 Mohinga’s came, with condiments for 2 people to share, not very generous as the lemons were cut very small and not much coriander
2 Noodle salads came, very disappointing as the egg noodles looked and tasted, like straight out of the packet, with not much condiments to mix the salad when I asked for more lemon, I was given the yellow plastic bottle of imitation lemon juice, which I was very disappointed with as I expected fresh lemon pieces.
We had to wait quite a while for our 5the dish Burmese Coconut Noodle Soup, to come and eventually we had to ask the waitress where it was and after she checked, it finally arrived, by then most of us had finished our meals.
It was a very disappointing experience for us as we had travelled a long way, unfortunately one of us got very sick for the rest of the day after lunch!
I was surprised at how authentic the food was for the buffet. Enjoyed it very much. $13. Salad, Veges, Rice, Chicken and Pork (delicious) curries, Napi paste with chilli, a dipping sauce and soup. Dessert was Watermelon.
Was not sure if a person could go for a second serve though.
They also had Mohinga and Khowsway which was $10.00 a serve plus other food.
Is a small cafe and easy to find.
Highly recommended if you enjoy home cooked food.
