I would normally rate this restaurant a 4/5, but their polenta was out of this world, best we've ever had, so they get a bonus star for that!
The restaurant has a wonderful "old school" ambiance, nice lighting, great decor and plays great music in the background. Service was casual and attentive, and the dishes were well spaced out. I tried a ginger old fashioned which was so good I had another one with dinner.
The food ranged from "ok" (the fruits de mer) or even "weird" (the roquefort ice cream) to the best ever "whipped polenta with brown butter corn" (reason enough to go back). The egg in the "oeuf mollet, smoked potato foam, mushrooms, puffed grains" was slightly overcooked, but the flavor was great. The "pan roasted fish, onion soubise, greens, asparagus, clam fumet" was very tasty as was the "jerusalem artichoke "quiche" shallot, bay leaf beurre blanc", which was pleasantly heavy on the butter sauce. The "''mont blanc 2.0'' chestnut, mandarin, salted caramel, crème fraiche" dessert was disappointing, as it was as far from a mont blanc as a dessert can be.
