Nothing Is more scary for a person than having high levels of Ana's found in their blood and getting referred to a rheumatoid arthritis specialist..... except when you use an automated phone system that just tells people to fax the referral and blood tests in and you will be triaged and have to wait for contact meanwhile being terrified of what this means....
After the last 2 weeks of waiting to hear back from your office and enjoying my growing deformities, swelling and crippling pain and stress we decide to contact your other consulting room and discover your idea of triage is looking at a blood test and saying eh I'll see him in 12 months and not even having the courtesy to contact me and tell me this let alone inspect my body issues in person or even talk to me ..... you must be the only Rhuematologist who can triage rheumatoid arthritis without doing a full body inspection .
I'm no doctor but a 33 year old with bunions causing feet deformities, history of arthroscopic surgery, and ana titre of 1:650, spinal arthritis, wrist and hand swelling, leg swelling etc would be a contender for an appointment.
Yet again ....you and your staff can't even contact me telling me you have decided not to see me.
It's easy to dismiss other people's health problems if you don't have to have any contact with them.
I look forward to finding a specialist who actually cares about helping people
