About Avalon Sailing Club
Avalon Sailing Club exists for the fostering, encouragement, promotion, teaching and, above all, enjoyment of sailing on the waters of Pittwater.
This has been the driving force since the Club was formed more than 80 years ago as a not-for-profit organisation.
Management and operation of the Club is on a volunteer basis and 'helping out' when needed is part of the core culture and ethos of the Club.
The Club is known as a 'Family' club which has as its basic ideals the teaching of sailing to the young.
Sail training takes place in Manly Juniors, Nippas and Puffins while the dinghy classes raced at present are Manly Juniors, Flying Elevens, O'pen Skiffs, Spirals and Lasers.
The normal racing day is Sunday.
