I have never dived before so I did the intro to diving experience and my partner is certified so he did his dives.
I had a wonderful time and it was exactly what I wanted no ruffles no frills, the crew was wonderful and the other passengers were great and we all got along very well. I was very nervous at first with diving but the crew put me at ease and helped me out. I felt safe underwater and I can't wait to get my certification. Meals were great and they were accomadating of my dietary needs (gluten and dairy free).
We went to the outer reefs and it was wonderful seeing the reef looking beautiful and vibrant. We were pretty much the only boat out there ! partner and I saw turtles, a manta ray and a shark in addition to all the fish - had plenty of time to snorkel on my own too.
The accomadations are basic, space is tight but I like this because part of travel and new experiences is the intimacy you get. I'm not going out to the reef to lay in luxury I'm there for the water and the reef. If you need to have a huge plush bed and all the amenities stay in a hotel and do a day trip. I find this trip working best for people that are maybe less high strung about those things. This trip was one of the greatest hilights of my trip to Australia, and made wonderful memories. Lots of time in the water and lots of great conversation ????
