A trustworthy instructor is paramount when diving and when travelling as a woman solo, and a knowledgeable wildlife guide is important when visiting an environment like the GBR. Martin is fantastic: calm, thorough, reassuring, and eagle-eyed when it comes to small or camouflaged creatures, which I always want to know about. The transition from theory, to pool rehearsal, to open water was smooth thanks to his excellent teaching. He will make sure you nail the exercises and make you feel like a pro when you get them right (fantastic! Superb!). His underwater mime skills will leave you in no doubt about what you are looking for, or supposed to be doing. A wonderful experience.
Scuba IQ in Port Douglas is a great dive operator. My 16 year old daughter completed a 3 day Open Water dive course in July. She was in a very small group of 3 students with 2 wonderful, experienced dive instructors - Seb and Chad. My husband and I also went diving with Scuba IQ and the whole family had a wonderful, super fun experience. We are looking forwarding to returning to Port Douglas in the next couple of years so our son can learn to dive. We will definitely be booking with Scuba IQ.
