About Elizabeth Machines Co
Elizabeth Machines Co. was established by Max Skurrie in 1960 in Elizabeth Street, Melbourne.
Originally specialising in domestic sewing machine sales and service, the business grew quickly and within a few years the business was also dealing in used industrial sewing machines.
In the late sixties, the demand for industrial sewing equipment had grown and Max travelled to Japan securing the Yamato Sewing Machine agency for Australia. Other prominent agencies including Mitsibushi, Seiko, Treasure and Summit were acquired in the ensuing years.
In the early seventies, Max travelled to Taiwan and was appointed Australian agent for the Siruba range of machinery - a brand that we have now represented for over forty years.
