Dr Liang was born in Borneo, before moving to Holland during his childhood and ultimately relocating to Australia, where he was accepted to study medicine at the University of Tasmania.
"In breast and endocrine surgery, every presentation is different. There are different quadrants, different tumours, and different treatment options available," Dr Liang says. "It's a problem solving-exercise, which begins with understanding the patient's situation: their family, their work, the life they want to return to, and then using the medical and surgical options at our disposal to help them get back to that. It's incredibly rewarding."
