The Grateful Thai is the sisterhood of the Humble Thai, modernising and pushing the boundaries of Thai food in our home of Newcastle. It is contemporary Thai with a fresh twist created by Chef Wirat.
He came from a family of engineers, so he ended up doing a degree in chemical engineering. He worked in the office and found he wanted to change, but he still didn’t know-how. Finally, he got a chance to stay in Australia, so it was the time for a career. Now, he is the chef for Absolute Thai and owner-chef for Humble Thai and The Grateful Thai.
The true uniqueness of the Humble and Grateful Thai is the homemade curry paste. They truly believe flavours begin with the right ingredients.
