Bamboo Lounge is a pleasant fusion Asian restaurant, with an odd mix of Nepalese, Indian, Thai and Malaysian cuisine, brought to you by the same Nepalese owners of Thailicious.
It's a little out of the way, you wouldn't stumble across this by accident, but it's in a nice quiet little arcade centre, with two other well known local Darwin eateries (Nemo's Fish and Chips, and the Chook Shed).
I've eaten here in person three times now, and take away a few more times. A summary of this would be decent Asian food, ever so slightly pricey, it's sits somewhat below Darwin favourite Hanuman's in terms of quality and pricing. Value for money though it's almost on par.
The steamed momos are divine, probably the best momos you'll get in town. The goat curry would have been nice, but so overloaded with bones that you can barely taste the goat. I've experienced this on both occasions I tried.
Other dishes are pleasant, both stir fried veggies, noodle dishes and other meat curries. No complaints.
I'd definitely eat here again, and plan to do so.
This restaurant is Amex friendly.
