About Great Southern Yarn
Great Southern Yarn is Australia’s premium yarn range, 100% Australian made from the highest quality merino and alpaca fleece. We have single-origin sourced our fleece from producers selected for their ethical and sustainable approach to animal welfare. Our yarn comes in 35 hand-dyed colours inspired and named after Australian female artists and their paintings.
GSY comes in two bases: 100% SRS Merino and the Blend, 50% SRS Merino and 50%, a mix of Huacaya and Suri alpaca which combines the softness of the alpaca with the bounce of the merino.
Our yarn is luxuriously soft, with a wonderful handle and comes in three weights: Finger weight or 4 ply, sport weight or 5 ply and DK or 8 ply.
