We did the Women's Tour - Gay'wu (Dillybag) at the Bawaka Homeland.
We loved the beautiful, white beach and blue ocean of this isolated homeland.
We slept with the cabin doors open and were rocked to sleep by the lapping waves and gentle sea breeze.
The Indigenous women showed us plant medicine, dancing, dying, art and did their best to explain their 'complex' family structure & system ????
The food was plentiful & every dietary requirement was tailored for. The tour guides did a great job tailoring to our needs.
There was running water and flushing toilets ????.
What I appreciated most about the experience was the 'timelessness '. With no reception and no schedule, I could just be. My mind was still and I could be present. This is a true gift.

Our tour was a few months ago and we often reflect on what an exceptional experience it was. We followed the lead of our hosts and enjoyed basket weaving, paint and dye collection, fishing and yidaki making. Informal conversation with our hosts, and others in the small touring party, enhanced our learning about Yolgnu culture. We definitely would love to have another experience with this company
