Horrible. Took horse float in for a service and full safety inspection prior to trip to Broome. Billed for tyres, bearings, brakes and safety inspection. In karatha the front tyres were flogged and found that the bushers were perished. The several gentlemen whom helped try piece my float back together to get me to Broome all asked when I last had it serviced and shook their heads in disbelief as they could all see how old and lifeless the bushers were and would have been when I got it serviced AND deemed "safe". From karatha on a wing and a prayer I made it to Broome where I booked float in with Kimberly trailer parts (nice, honest guy 5* if your up there). Upon inspection it was found my float was fitted with 2 right hand brakes therefore not functioning, the handbrake was not functioning, the chains and shackles were not up to spec, the wheel nuts were not the right size and that cracks in the welds were apparent from stress of the bushers going. I called Fremantle Trailers and was kindly told they would cover costs and fix the float upon my return as it was their fault for deeming it safe. Upon my return to Fremantle the tyres were begining to flog and my horse was starting to scramble. I dropped float off to Fremantle trailers and was told manager was not there and would get back to me once they had looked at float. 3 days later I contacted manager and was told it would be $4-5k to fix float. But I thought you would fix it? Oh no that managers been fired so now it's not their problem. Hang on, I paid you, Fremantle Trailers, for a service I did not receive and subsequently I've paid thousands to fix it and get home after being told it would be covered and fixed by previous manager. Fremantle trailers your staffing is not my concern, it's yours and one would hope you would amend your wrong doings. Anyway, I asked to speak to owners, the manager said he would speak to owners and would not give me their contact details. Apparently owners don't want anything to do with it so 'out of the kindness of my [the managers] heart' he replaced one of the flogged tyres. Well done you put a new tyre on a wonky float what do you think happened?! anyway I took float to Craig's Fabrications (unfortunately no longer in WA another 5* due there) where he found tyre that had been replaced was the wrong size (thanks for the kindness of you heart Mr manager). It then cost me $750 for new running gear and FULL SAFETY check by craig not $4-5k, admittedly he had just taken new springs off of a new trailer so they were at a discount. Float hasn't skipped a beat since, Thanks to Craig. Moral of the story Fremantle Trailers are costly, untrustworthy, rude and an all round horrible experience. Zero stars given were it an option.
