I have now been attempting to get a refund/gift card for a cancelled (by the airline) flight on the 7th of December. I have been patient however I have now sent a total of 9 emails over the past 7 weeks, a visit instore, as well as a call to head office and I still have nothing.
I waited patiently for December to pass as early emails stated they needed to wait for an end of month report to process refunds. On the 6th of Jan I received a response to one of my follow ups advising “ I will have a look for you and then process it.”
When I had heard again nothing by the 16th of Jan, I received the response “ I saw the credit is already in the system so I will tell one of my colleagues doing the refund for you.”
On the 23rd of Jan I went into the store and received the response “My colleague wrote me back and it will be this afternoon if not the first thing tomorrow morning.
She will send you an e-mail.”
It is now the 31st of Jan and I have not received an email as stated above NOR any form of refund or gift card.
If nothing is received by COB today I will have to contact ACCC, as Flight Centre cannot do something as simple as refund for a cancelled flight. If you do not follow up with them you will never receive a response, and even then they will advise “it’s done” when it has not been. Blatant lying is not appropriate customer service from a national company.
ETA to Flight Centre's response: I have ALREADY contacted Customer Relations as mentioned, I spoke with a Michelle on the 25th of January who said she would have it "pushed through". Still nothing.
