After years of my varicose veins getting worse and causing pain, discomfort and being self conscious of them I started looking at procedures to fix it.
Most involved stripping the vein and a stay in hospital, I was referred to the laser treatment and weighed up downtime against the extra cost that wasn’t covered by medicare so I had the treatment done Feb 2020. I walked out of the clinic and was back at work the next day, repeating the procedure on the left leg the week after.
Due to covid I wasn’t able to do a follow up & have only recently visited the clinic to express my gratitude to the change the procedure has made to my life.
The impact from varicose veins are more than superficial, there are circulation issues that can lead to reduced healing and scarring, limiting physical activity and mental issues.
I had the veins on the inside of both legs treated, from my ankle to the groin. Both have completely disappeared after the one treatment.
my scarring near the ankle is slowly disappearing and my hair has grown back on both legs.
I can’t recommend this procedure enough.
Beyond that, my varicose veins and the cause put me on a search to understand why the valves fail in the first place, which is relevant to other valves in the body.

There was no real downtime and I was back running and exercising with lighter feeling legs a few weeks after treatment. And it feels truly amazing to wear shorts & short dresses again and to confidently go to the beach and the local pool. The treatment has done wonders for my general wellbeing!!
