As a gift for my baby shower I had a friend buy me a 3d ultrasound experience that came with a free photo shoot with Prima photographic. I was so excited because my partner and I never thought we would have the opportunity to get professional photos of our new born. The photo shoot took place in July and the day was amazing, my Father was flying into Adelaide from Brisbane to meet his newest grandchild so got to have a few photos taken as well which in turn meant he offered to pay for as many photos as we wanted. Once the shoot had taken place it was over a month before we even got to see the unedited photos at the end of August and this viewing session had only been scheduled once I chased the photographer up. With the go ahead from my Father we decided to get the largest digital package at the cost of $800 for 20 photos on a USB, this money was paid in full on the day we saw the photos. Another month goes by with no communication from Prima photographic until again I had to chase them up which took 2 days to get a hold of someone. When I did finally hear back I was told that my photos would be ready by the end of that week and they would let us know. My partner and I were getting rather worried and we were preparing ourselves for the possibility we had been swindled considering it had now been over 2 months since the photos shoot and it have been over a month since they had received our payment in full when we finally received a message a week after we were told the photos would be ready for collection this week. The whole situation had caused me so much anxiety that my partner ended up going in to pick them up by himself and when he did he was handed the wrong photos and questioned as to whether he was sure that wasn't his order.
I understand that the photography industry can be very busy with the time it takes to not only take the photos but the extra effort that is used during the editing process but this whole escapade has lasted from mid July to early October with no communication from the company unless I spend days trying to contact someone. Overall the photo shoot experience was great, everything after that was an absolute disaster. Would not use this company again if we were looking for professional photos in the future.
