Used Wayne Rees as the celebrant at our wedding in April 2017. I believe he is a Cairns local who has been doing weddings for around 20 years and this was quite obvious in the way he seamlessly took us through the process. His prices were reasonable and he came to our house a couple of times prior to the wedding, mainly to run through the logistics of the ceremony and some paperwork. Wayne has a background in acting and is apparently the official ‘Town Crier’ for Cairns. That being said as he discussed with us before the wedding he can be as theatrical or subtle as you want on your big day – it sounds like he personalises himself for you. I found he delivered a high quality ceremony on our wedding day, filled with just enough elements of humour to lighten the mood. He also didn’t rabbit on too much, which is what we had desired and discussed with him prior to the ceremony. I also appreciated the simple fact that he was very supportive and helpful in keeping me calm and composed during what was a fairly stressful wait. He received good feedback from the guests and I certainly would have no hesitation in recommending him to others.
