About Darling Range Wildlife Shelter
DRWS is a volunteer and non-for-profit organisation whose purpose is to rehabilitate native wildlife and promote the value of biodiversity.
Each year our 140+ volunteers aged from 14-80 years, provide over 40 000 unpaid hours. They rescue, treat and care for injured, orphaned, sick and displaced Australian native wildlife with the aim of rehabilitation and release.
DRWS is committed to the sustainable use of natural resources and minimizing our environmental footprint. Our site is a revegetated, previously overgrazed goat paddock. Our toilets are waterless; buildings collect rainwater for use; wastewater treated and re-used; facilities solar-powered. Worm farms upcycle food scraps, reducing landfill and are food for admissions.

Did not realise they were so close to where I live. I hope to do voluntary work soon. They are passionate about wildlife comforting to know there are facilities close by to take injured animals too.
