About Wando Lodge Vineyard
The Wando Lodge Vineyard is a vineyard and winery located in Casteron. We love for you to visit us - you can sample our wine, enjoy a glass of our wine with a cheese platter or you could wander through the vineyard. We are situated on the red gum-studded rolling hills of the Henty tableland, in Wando Vale, south-west Victoria. Wando Lodge is dedicated to Cabernet Sauvignon and run under organic principles, which makes it a better place for us to live, work, eat and drink from. 10 Oct 2019With a holistic philosophy, my endeavour is to create an environment which ensures healthy balance within the landscape, for both the plants, thoroughbred horses and cattle on the property. Thus, compost, mulch and organic liquid worm fertiliser are used to enrich the soil, while the vines are tended and pruned by hand, rather than machinery. In summer a drip irrigation system operates and the vines are netted for protection.
As custodian, continuing to care for the land and vines is paramount in order to create quality, not quantity. Wando Lodge wine is smooth, round and full flavoured, with an alcohol content of 12.8% to 13%.
