About Topper's Mountain Wines
We're in the cool GI of "New England, Australia" at 900m altitude, high up on the Great Dividing Range in northern NSW.
In the early 2000s, we planted alot of varieties with little history in Australia. It turned out many of them adopted us & our terroir by easily producing more characterful wines than most of the French varieties.
As a result, we specialise in rare, mostly Mediterranean Emerging Varieties such as Nebbiolo, Gewurztraminer, Petit Manseng, Tannat, Touriga, Tinta Cao plus more. We make small batch, adventurous & distinctive wines with a focus on minimal intervention in the vineyard & winemaking, being food-friendly, cellarable & reflecting their rare terroir.
