About Burwood Cemetery

Dating back to 1858, Burwood Cemetery, originally known as the Nunawading General Cemetery, was a hub of funeral activity until the early 1980s. In this decade, it reached capacity for new burial positions. A cemetery of historical, aesthetic and social significance to the City of Whitehorse, Burwood Cemetery is testament to the earliest phase of settlement of the Burwood area.
