Donna's knowledge of the universe is as big as, well, the universe. She shares this knowledge with passion and enthusiasm to create a memorable evening of star gazing. My entire family enjoyed our evening with Donna and this is a must do if you visit Coonabarabran.

Our family enjoyed it. However, personally, I'd like to see larger images of our nearby planets rather than bright dots. Looking at the previous reviews, when the real telescope was working, the views were fantastic. I know that the website doesn't state how big the planets will be seen as and there is no mention that the big telescope is out of service, but if we are going to see stuff, bigger would be better.

Donna the Astronomer was so informative and engaging. She fought with the clouds that tried to block our fun.

Donna is an absolute legend. Even if you're a flat earther you should go to this observatory just for the Don.

Fantastic show, very informative and accommodating staff! Had a great time.

She was great. Knew her stuff. She had apprentices assisting and they were cute. She took us on a tour of the current night sky and showed us globular and open clusters, nebulae, double stars, constellations, star signs, meteors, satellites, how to work out the south celestial pole from the pointers and southern cross, and she had some good merchandise. She made the attendees who wanted it(for a small fee) that night some pumpkin and sweet potato soup and I missed out, but what a nice touch on a cool night. Be in your warmest clothes/thermals during winter. I might go back when the planets are up one weekend.

Great experience.

We went in mid May very cold at night. Rug up and maybe bring a blanket. Donna offered hot soup on the night, you pay a little extra but it was a nice touch and welcome warmth in the cold night. Drive way was a bit tricky for us at the top in our big, stupid motor home.

I would like to go again at a different time of year to see more planets ( only Mars was visible) or if there was a session for guests who have been before and can skip some of the introductory level aspects.

Definitely recommend.
