This workshop explores natural pigments from nature and everyday materials such as kitchen spices, teas and vegetable skins. Children observe how colours change when water is added, noticing the colours that are already present in the environment.

Using Montessori materials, watercolour and creative mark-making, the workshop offers a calm, process-led art experience connected to colour, texture, place and story.

Developed by Maria Grujicic Studio, this workshop connects to the picture book The Colours That Were Already There, currently in development, and the creative learning resource already available online.
