SM mechanical replaced a part that we had to source due to another company diagnosing a leak on the brake vaccum pump, but claimed they couldnt source parts. When we sourced it, they made us feel like it was to hard for them, after an internet search for someone who deals with European cars, I came across SM mechanical. I sent an email asking if they could do the job and they were happy to do it. Phoned and booked in my alfa to be done that same week..

Job was done in great time and the price was reasonable.

Will definitely be using this company again.

Was highly recommended this place by 2 mates so had car serviced 2days ago, lady was nice and called me to let me know of extra works needing done before authorisation.

I was however abit disappointed with the end customer service I recieved. The key (aftermarket) to the car had a loose case, which I mentioned on drop off, have had the car about 7months never had issues with the key. It worked as I drove it there, they then test drove it and got it into the workshop, once the works were completed the key was no longer working and noone could tell me why. I got the original key in and that worked. I did ask if I would get the key fixed or any discount since my working key was no longer working. The lady said unfortunately not since its aftermarket and was faulty due to the loose case on drop off. The only thing offered was for me to drop the key the following day for them to "maybe replace the casing".

I called the locksmith and they believe maybe the workers were rough and knocked the chip in the key, or something to do with car electronics from service. Maybe the mechanic should had offered a locksmith investigate and fix the issue at their cost - but put blame on customer for the key being faulty, which doesn't take away from fact the key was and always has worked.

It also said the car was vacuumed which it wasnt, that the front/back windows were cleaned again werent cleaned. I believe for a $1600 service these little things certainly matter and take away from the whole positive experience. It also makes me worry about what else was written as done and not actually done with the car.

Good service, great communication. Will be a repeat customer.

The speed of service and completion of work, was so impressive and the clean organised workshop was an experience beyond our expectations.
