Peter and his team completed a complex task of removing an old solar hot water system from a Decramastic roof and installing a new electric hot water system. They did an excellent job.
They were so prompt and professional from the minute I phoned. A guy called Tyson came out when I said I would be home. He checked everything out and explained in layman’s terms what the problem could be. Unfortunately we didn’t have a straight forward plumbing issue and he kept monitoring the problem over the next few days. We could not believe the after hours care and detail for such a very competitive price. I would highly recommend Tavener plumbing to anyone and we already have to all our neighbours in the street.

14 June 2026How long does a Brisbane switchboard upgrade actually take? Real answer from SEQ Sparky after years on the tools across Brisbane Southside, Logan, Redlands and Ipswich. The on-site work is one full day, 8am to around 4pm. Total elapsed time from initial photo enquiry to final compliance certificate in your inbox is 5 to 10 days for single-phase residential upgrades. Three-phase upgrades take 7 to 14 days.
Day 0 is the photo enquiry. Day 1 fixed price quote. Day 2 to 4 Energex EWR lodgement. Day 5 to 8 the on-site upgrade. Day 9 to 10 Electrical Safety Certificate lodged with the Queensland ESO.
What happens to your power during the upgrade day. Approximately 6 hours off from around 8:30am to 3pm. Run the fridge and freezer cold the night before. Most homes work from a cafe or the office during the middle of the day and come home to a finished board.

Six, rusted, warped or water marks. Seven, you have been told the board is full when you tried to add solar, aircon or an EV charger.
Most older Brisbane homes across Tarragindi, Mount Gravatt, Annerley and Coorparoo still have Tpanel meter boards from the seventies and eighties. They were fine for one TV and a fridge. They are not fine for a modern home with reverse-cycle aircon, induction cooktop, EV and rooftop solar.
The fix is a full board upgrade to a Hager or Clipsal RCBO board. Real 2026 Brisbane pricing for a single-phase upgrade sits between $1,800 and $3,200 fitted. Three-phase upgrades $3,500 to $6,500. Every job includes the Energex EWR and Electrical Safety Certificate.
