Helen Shao:

Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine are Helen's passion and she has dedicated much of her life to helping those with "problems" that western medicine has been unable to cure.

It has taken Australia a little while to become comfortable with using TCM - and in particular acupuncture. The thought of "needles" sends shivers through most. However, it has become readily accepted with physiotherapists and many other practitioners using a technique know as "needling" with many of their patients.

Whilst "needling" and "acupuncture" are different - it still involves needles. The transition of mainstream physiotherapists and other technicians with the inclusion of "needling" into their pain management plans, within their practices, has given acupuncture more acceptance. Although "needling" is different to "acupuncture".

Acupuncture and the benefits of TCM seem endless. The method has been used in China and other countries for centuries. Chinese hospitals have dedicated TCM departments. TCM is part of the accepted and often preferred method of treatment in China.
