About Budawang Yoga Retreat

We offer something very unique for the discerning traveller. As a family of four we have lived amongst the pristine Budawang ranges beside the pure fresh Clyde River since 2001. A few times each year we open up our 176 acre property to small groups for yoga retreats. The role of yoga over the weekend is to introduce you to nurturing, flowing and gentle movements, bringing your mind, body and spirit to a state of total relaxation. We will nurture you with massage, swims in the river, walks through the forest, hot outdoor baths - under the stars and delicious, world-class, vegetarian food. Like most of our guests, you will not want to leave. We cater specifically to women. Some come in groups, many come as individuals. Most people come back year after year. Weekend retreats run from Friday morning to Sunday after lunch. We cater exclusively for small groups - ideally 8 people (if you are a group you may bring 10). Our aim is to provide an escape away from the normal stress of life. We try to nurture you, provide opportunities to relax, and make available to you an environment surrounded by nature - where you can immerse yourself in the tranquility of the forest and river. Nothing is regimented - everything is at your discretion. One-day Friday workshops are offered as a way to give yourself, or another, a well deserved break from the normal routine and stress of life. No difficult yoga is practiced - everything is gentle, flowing and nurturing. The day includes a delicious vegetarian lunch, yoga tuition and all yoga equipment - including mats. This is an ideal day to share with friends - even treat them as a birthday gift. Budawang Retreat is situated on 176 acres of magnificent bush land surrounded by State Forests on the edge of the Budawang National Park. Our Eco-friendly property has over 1000m of private river frontage. It truly is a wonderful and unique, Australian bush experience. The natural energies from the river and native bush surroundings will leave you feeling transformed and refreshed and give you a renewed sense of well being. On Saturday between breakfast and lunch or afternoon tea we offer groups the choice of activities. The most popular are... * Indigenous culture with Noel Butler * African Dance and drumming with Deseree * Belly Dance with Deseree * Climbing Pigeon House Mountain * Vegetarian Cooking Classes These activities are optional and many people choose simply to enjoy the local venue. See the things to do link for lots of ideas on how to relax here. The Clyde River catchment is characterised by high biodiversity. It is the southern most limit of many of the species which occur in the north, and the northern most limit of many species which occur in the south. This means there are more species of plants, animals, insects, birds, fungi and fish than in other parts of the east coast.
