About The Deaf Society of New South Wales

The Deaf Society of New South Wales was founded in 1912 in response to the needs of Deaf people who used sign language as their primary means of communication. The organisation is a State-wide non-profit agency whose services for Deaf people are funded by government grants, contributions from donors, income earned from investments and fees charged for services rendered. Our broad major goals are to educate and support members of the Deaf Community to access relevant community services and to educate community services on the needs of the Deaf Community.  The Deaf Society of NSW’s head office is located in Parramatta, with regional offices in Gosford, Newcastle, Coffs Harbour and Lismore.
