I had to make my presence known at the Landsdale Medical Centre before being seen by Clinipath Landsdale Broadview. I have never been there before.
I was handed 2 sealed dry swabs by a woman and told to go to the toilet and swab my throat, put the specimen containers and form into the plastic bag she provided and leave them on the desk where she was sitting. I did the swab, not knowing if I did this correctly. The woman was not at the desk and I went looking for her. She was coming out of the Medical Centre. I said I did not know what to do and she said leave them on the table.
I told her I hadn't signed the form and she replied it was a VERBAL AGREEMENT.
I thought this isn't correct and
I signed the form, wrote my details on the specimens and she never checked I was who I said I was, as all other pathology staff have when I have had tests done at other labs.
Just comes across as shoddy, lazy and suss.
It will be interesting to find out if she signed the section where time, date and signature inform that she took my specimens.
