They overcharged customers for a period of quite a few weeks earlier this year; they know they did and admit they did, but they refuse to issue a refund???
This has always my favourite pharmacy: local, friendly and with knowledgeable staff; until I quite by chance noticed that over the course of two monthly prescriptions earlier this year, I was charged about $58 per script, instead of the usual $44.
So I went into the shop, armed with receipts. After I got past the initial episode of "mansplaining" by Mr Gary Finucane who kept cutting me off trying to guess what I was going to say rather than listen to me actually say it, I pointed out that at some stage the price of my item seems to have gone up considerably, before being lowered again.
I fully expected this to perhaps be due to a currency exchange fluctuation. I did not expect to be told that this was due to a new computer system being introduced, which had allocated incorrect prices to items of medication. When I asked whether there should be a refund, I was told they were not in the habit of giving refunds.
No refunds for customers that have been ripped off when you know you have ripped them off?
It is totally irrelevant whether or not these have been claimed on someone's extra's cover. It is not the insurer's job to compensate for your "error". The customer or the insurer needs to be compensated, depending on who is out of pocket.
It would assume that I was equally overcharged for my medicare items over the same period for which I have every right to expect a refund.
Outrageous! I will certainly be taking this further.
the 3 stars I have given are for the other, not so arrogant staff and pharmacists that I usually encounter there.
(as for the response by the owner telling me to call them: I emailed them and they chose not to respond. I can only assume they don't want to admit to this in writing. I will not take this to the dept of Consumer Protection)
I can absolutely recommend this pharmacy. The staff is very friendly and helpful and they were able to answer all the questions that I had. They really go above and beyond to help out their customers.
Furthermore, the range of products they have is amazing, very well sorted and it’s worth checking out.
